Virtual Federal Congress „Energy Transition and Cooperatives 2022“

25/01/2022

Our german partner DGRV co-organised the Virtual Federal Congress „Energy Transition and Cooperatives 2022“ which took place on January 25th 2022.

DGRV Chief Executive Officer Dr Eckhard Ott welcomed the 1,200 participants to the Federal Congress on Cooperative Energy Transition. Dr Ott expressed confidence based on the cornerstones of the new energy policy. The ambitious expansion paths, the adjustment of subsidy rates and the increase in tender limits for renewable energies can significantly improve the possibilities for action for citizen-led initiatives. Finally, the formulated key points must also be translated into practical measures.

The Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Oliver Krischer (BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN) thanked the energy cooperatives for the work they have done so far. The new german federal government wants to improve the framework conditions for energy cooperatives in the electricity, heating and transport sectors. Bureaucratic hurdles are to be removed and new support measures implemented. In particular, district heating, rooftop PV systems, tenant electricity and energy sharing are to be promoted. A new de minimis regulation is to be introduced in the upcoming EEG amendment. This would mean an expansion of the tender limit. After his impulse, he answered the assessments and questions from energy cooperatives.

The event was held in German.
