The kick-off event of the SHAREs project with the German pilot communities Rheda-Wiedenbrück, District Gießen and Göttingen was conducted online on February 21^st 2022. In the course of the event, our partner B. & S. U. presented the SHAREs project to the most important stakeholders in the field of climate protection and energy transition in the pilot regions and dicussed how SHAREs can support them in founding or expanding energy communities or other collective actions within the project. In doing so, B. & S. U. informed them about the goals of the project and explained the approach in how SHAREs wants to reach all citizens via the SHAREs Gateway, so that everyone can actively participate and benefit from the energy transition.

A major contribution to the event was given by the local heroes of the pilot municipalities, who presented their current work in the field of climate protection and explained their motivation and goals for their participation in the project in a lively panel discussion.
